A fun garden plant to grow. Small orange fruits are encased in a papery husk. Ready to eat when they fall off the plant and the fruits are a deep orange colour. Papery husks are removed when ready to eat or can be left on for storage. Fruits are great for fresh eating, tarts or jam. Sweet, pineapple-like flavour.

Growing Information
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date. Sow a few seeds in blocks or flats in groups, can take up to 2 weeks to germinate. Then thin to the strongest plant in the group and increase pot size to 4" once two true leaves have formed. Transplant after danger of frost has passed at 18-24" spacing.
